Pulty Privacy Policy
Effective date:
Pulty ("the app") is a remote control for Apple TV made by VC Design (Vladimir Chernikov, individual entrepreneur, Yerevan, Armenia; "we"). This policy explains what the app does with information. Short version: we do not collect, store or share any personal data. The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and we run no servers for it.
What the app does on your network
- Finds Apple TVs on your Wi‑Fi using the standard local discovery protocol (Bonjour/mDNS).
- Connects directly to your Apple TV over your local network. On first connection you enter the code shown on the TV. After that, the connection is encrypted with keys known only to your phone and your TV. The TV lists your phone among its remotes under the phone's model name (for example "Pixel 9 Remote").
- Sends your remote-control input to the TV: button presses, touch-surface gestures, and text you type into a text field shown on the TV (for example a search or a password).
- Receives from the TV what is playing (title, progress, playback controls and, when available, the artwork) to show it in the app and in the system media controls on your notification shade and lock screen.
- Artwork from the internet: when the TV provides a web address for the artwork instead of the image itself, the app downloads the image from that address, usually a server of the app playing on your TV. This is an ordinary image download: your phone's IP address and standard request headers reach that server, as with any web request. We don't see this request and receive nothing from it.
None of this information is sent to us or to any third party chosen by us.
What is stored on your phone
Only on your device, in the app's private storage:
- the list of Apple TVs you have used (name, local IP address, port, device identifier and model as announced on your network);
- the pairing keys that let the app reconnect to each TV without a new code;
- your settings (touch sensitivity, arrows instead of the touch surface, whether you have seen the introduction) and the last TV you used.
The app does not include this data in Google's cloud backup. You can delete a TV and its keys at any time in Settings → Apple TVs → Forget, or delete everything by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.
Permissions
- Network access, Wi‑Fi state and multicast: to find your Apple TV and talk to it on your local network.
- Foreground service (connected device): to keep the connection to your TV while it plays, so the lock-screen controls work. It runs only while something is playing (or paused for up to 10 minutes) and is always visible as a media notification.
- Vibration: haptic feedback for button presses.
The app does not access your contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera or location.
Information we receive
- If you email us (for example via Settings → Send feedback), we receive your email address and your message and use them only to reply. We do not add you to any list.
- Google Play may provide us with aggregated, anonymised crash and performance statistics (Android vitals) under Google's own privacy policy. They contain no personal data from the app.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes
If the app's handling of information changes (for example, when optional in-app purchases are added), we will update this page and the effective date before releasing that version.
